Marc Bancquart was born in Rouen (France) in 1927. In 1945, he has created his first figurative canvass and adheres to the surrealist movement. He met André Breton, surrealist painters, and Fernand Léger.
As early as 1950, he involved himself towards the abstraction and works in solitary up to 1973, date of his first personal exhibition in the art Gallery of the orly-ouest airport. He met Jean Miotte who introduced him to Louis Nallard. He is then accepted in the Parlor of the New Realities where he exhibited up to 1978. Several group exhibition in Paris are realised then, progressively Marc has the need of a return to the classical work of the figurative paint through the landscapes of skies and sea he follows while working abstract, until he is now doing only that. Installed in Normandy, he is today devoted to the landscapes of the Norman coast. |
